Date: May 6, 2017
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
YARN DYEING WITH HEAT NIKII MURTAUGH, INSTRUCTOR The best wool-dyeing methods incorporate heat. Starting with a skein of bare wool yarn, we’ll experiment with three different heat sources- a microwave, a kettle and the sun. We’ll play with multi-tonal dyeing techniques too, and you’ll go home with some beautiful samples or yarn enough for a couple small pieces. This will be a well-rounded intro to the world of protein fiber dyeing for both fibers enthusiasts and anyone looking for a fun art project. We’ll play with colors all day, so be sure to bring some snacks and a lunch, and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy (we’ll have aprons available). Closed toe shoes are also advised. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring additional bare yarn if you have it. SATURDAY, MAY 6, 9:00AM – 4:00PM $55 MEMBERS / $60 NON-MEMBERS + $25 MATERIALS FEE
